TULSA, Oklahoma -- Oral Roberts junior forward Michael Craion earned the Summit League Men's Basketball Player of the Week award for his performance Dec. 22-28. The honor was the first of his career.
Craion only played one game during that span, but made the most of it. The Kansas City native finished with 18 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists in the Golden Eagles’ 75-66 upset win over No. 12 New Mexico on Dec. 23rd.
Craion went 5-of-8 from the floor and 8-of-12 from the free throw line while recording his third double-double of the season.
Defensively, he recorded two blocked shots and limited New Mexico's leading scorer, Darington Hobson, to 11 points.
The Lobos were the highest-ranked opponent ever defeated by ORU at home and the victory marked the Golden Eagles' first win over a ranked team since 2006 and first home win over a ranked team since 1996.
The Golden Eagles resume Summit League play when they visit South Dakota State on Thursday.
