Bobby LewisTULSA, Oklahoma – Jaleshia Roberson knocked down a career-high eight three pointers to send ORU to its second consecutive loss, 99-81. Roberson finished the game with 35 points to lead Missouri State. The Golden Eagles’ have now lost a fourth game by double-digits this season.
Oral Roberts, playing its first home game since the death of the university’s founder, never looked in sync on defense. The Lady Bears started the game hot from outside, hitting six three pointers by halftime. Missouri State led by ten after twenty minutes, despite turning the ball over a dozen times.
Roberson scored 11 first-half points as Missouri State won their third straight game. The Lady Bears outscored the Golden Eagles 56-48 in the second half. Four Lady Bears finished with ten or more points.
Former Booker T. Washington Hornet Christiana Shorter started for the Lady Bears and scored nine points in 22 minutes. She tied for the team lead with seven rebounds.
Kevi Luper led the Golden Eagles with 24 points and five assists. Four other Golden Eagles scored in double-figures. Janae Loelker pulled down ten rebounds. ORU’s bench was outscored 26-5.
ORU entered the game leading the nation in scoring at 90 points per game, but struggled to get to 81 on Saturday. ORU hits the road this Tuesday against the OSU Cowgirls. Tip-time for that game is set for 7 p.m.
