COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Oklahoma State Cowgirls had three players score in double figures, including 27 points from Andrea Riley, but it wasn’t enough to get a win in the Preseason WNIT. They lost to Ohio State in the final, 93-72.
The Buckeyes had three players score more than 20 points in the contest; Jantel Lavender with 26, Brittany Johnson scored a career-high 23 and Samantha Prahalis contributed 22 in Ohio State’s big win.
It was the fourth straight 20-win opponent for the Cowgirls, who played in the NCAA tournament a year ago.
Both Riley and her teammate Tegan Cunningham, who scored 19 in the final, were both named to the all-tournament team, in addition to Lavender and Prahalis.
Next up for the Cowgirls is a trip to the Bahamas to take on Marist in the Junkanoo Jam Nov. 27.
