VINITA, Oklahoma -- As long as the weather holds, all Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative utilities customers should have their power restored Thursday, according to a news release.

"We anticipate covering a lot of ground today," said NEOEC Manager of Operations Rick Shurtz Thursday morning.

"It is still our expectation to have electric service returned to those members who can safely receive it by the end of the day."

About 230 customers remain without power.

About 9,000 customers lost power in Sunday's tornado in the Grand Lake area. All but 1,000 had service restored by the following day, according to NOEC operations manager Rick Shurtz.

Although flooding interfered with crews trying to make repairs, power was restored to about 1,300 members on Wednesday. Waters have receded leaving deep mud.
