Tulsa Principals Learn Their Fate After Consolidation

TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa Public Schools continues the implementation of its consolidation plan.

The district released its list of proposed principal assignments for the 2011-2012 school year Friday.

"Principals have been carefully selected to make certain they can provide the best services to our students," a news release from the district said Friday.

The proposed assignments must be approved by the board of education.

The district is also reassigning teachers from schools that have been closed. Teachers will get to rank their preferred schools and will find out their new assignments by the end of this month.

The district is in the process of sending out letters to parents, detailing how the consolidation will affect their child.  More than a dozen schools will close and boundary lines redrawn.
