TULSA, Oklahoma -- A New York City newspaper is reporting a German car rental company is looking to team up with Avis to buy Tulsa-based Dollar Thrifty.
Sixt Group is based in Munich and reportedly in talks with Avis to assist with the merger of Avis and Dollar Thrifty.
On Monday, Hertz announced it had re-entered the bidding war for Dollar Thrity.
Dollar Thrifty is considered a key prize for either Hertz or Avis because they cater to business travelers. Dollar Thrifty's clientele is largely the leisure traveler, giving either company a broader appeal.
