LAKE EUFAULA, Oklahoma -- Lake Eufaula will be full of fishermen this weekend as Oklahoma welcomes the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Their tournament pairs disabled anglers from across the country with a local pro who knows the lake.
It's no surprise our favorite fisherman, News On 6 meteorologist Dick Faurot, was there Thursday, helping Brian Terwilliger get the lay of the land.
Terwilliger is a Navy veteran from Florida who broke his neck in 65. He's been competing for 25 years and says Oklahoma holds a fond place in his heart.
"The first two events were here on Lake Eufaula. It was the highest finish I ever had, it was second place," he said. "Been fishin all these years, and this is the highest place I ever finished. I loved it."
This weekend's champion wins a spot to compete on the professional BASS Tour.
