TULSA, Oklahoma -- It was one week ago Thursday that a deadly tornado tore through the Atoka County community of Tushka. The EF 3 tornado killed two elderly sisters.
American Red Cross's Tulsa office is adding up their cost of their help. The agency says the expenses for what they've provided will be as much as $393,000.
They have nine teams in the Tushka area, and so far they've served nearly 5,000 hot meals and snacks... handed out more than 300 comfort kits - which include essentials for adults and games for children - and met with more than 100 residents to help them find other assistance.
They've also given out nearly 1,000 items like tools, cleaning supplies and tools to help families with clean-up.
And volunteers have also been driving through neighborhoods to deliver meals, water and snacks to residents and workers.
