Farm Tractor Wreck Kills Cherokee County Resident

HULBERT, Oklahoma -- A 39-year-old Tahlequah man was pronounced dead at the scene following a farm tractor wreck on a gravel road in Cherokee County Sunday afternoon.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Sylvester Garcia was driving the tractor about four miles west of Hulbert on a private road when he lost control, causing the tractor to roll, pinning him under the right wheel.

Troopers say six other people were also on the tractor at the time, none of them were seriously injured.

It took members of the Spring Valley Fire Department about 30 minutes to free Garcia.
