OWASSO, Oklahoma -- A Oklahoma military contact in Iraq tells News On 6 that paychecks already appear to have been cut because of the possible government shutdown.
A serviceman from Owasso, who is deployed in Iraq, says his pay stub for April 15th already shows a deduction that cuts the check in half. The serviceman did not wish to be identified discussing a political matter.
The serviceman said they have not been told what would happen because of the possible shutdown. He said he was fortunate to have an employer with military pay to help the carryover, but pointed out many families rely on the direct deposits to pay bills, and they could feel the impact in pay as soon as April 15th.
