Police Identify Man And Woman Killed In Early Sunday Tulsa Crash

Two people were killed on 161st East Avenue near 11th Street overnight Sunday when their car left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa police have released the names of a man and woman killed in a single-car accident that took place at about midnight on 161st East Avenue just north of 11th Street.

Dead are 34-year-old Marlin McGarry and his passenger, 30-year-old Jennifer Finehart.

McGarry was driving a Nissan 350Z northbound on 161st E. Avenue at what police called a high rate of speed when he apparently lost control of the car. The Nissan left the road to the right, striking a utility pole.

The car rolled several times before coming to rest. McGarry was ejected from the vehicle. Passenger Jennifer Finehart was freed from the vehicle by Tulsa firefighters.

EMSA paramedics pronounced both victims dead at the scene. Tulsa police department investigated the accident.

Police say the accident is still under investigation. They said speed was a contributing factor.

News On 6 has located a Marlin McGarry on Facebook who is listed as a Catoosa resident. He graduated from Catoosa High School in 1994. He is friends with Jeni Finehart of Tulsa who graduated from Edison High School in Tulsa in 1999.
