Tulsa To Hold Its Own Mardi Gras Parade Tuesday Evening

The Blue Dome District in downtown Tulsa will be playing host to a Mardi Gras parade Tuesday evening.

TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Blue Dome District in downtown Tulsa will be playing host to a Mardi Gras parade Tuesday evening.

Because of the parade, several downtown streets will be closed to traffic before and after the parade which gets underway at 7:00 p.m.

Tulsa Police say crowds in excess of 1,000 are anticipated to attend the event.

The parade staging area on 1st between Greenwood and Elgin will be closed 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The parade route begins at between 1st and Elgin, proceeds west on 1st to Detroit. Then south on Detroit to 3rd Street. It will turn north on Elgin and ends at 2nd and Elgin.

Because of the parade route, all vehicles found parked will be towed between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
