TULSA, Oklahoma – A lawsuit filed on behalf of seven victims in a deadly 2008 Tulsa car crash has been settled.

Tulsa Police said Andrew Mathis intentionally drove his car into a crowd outside a Brookside bar in October 2008.

The crash killed Carlos Lopez Junior, 30, and Dennis Cox, 38. Five others were injured.

The law firm representing the victims said the insurance company recently settled for $300,000; $100,000 each will go to the families of Carlos Lopez Junior and Dennis Cox; a third independent party will divide the remaining $100,000 among the five other victims.

Mathis pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to two life sentences, one for each victim, and 10 more years for a separate assault and battery charge.
