TULSA, Oklahoma -- Time is running out to practice your 10-digit dialing in Oklahoma.

Beginning March 5, 2011, you will have to dial the area code to complete a call, including local calls.

"People who have dialing systems, either they have a home phone that's got programmed numbers or a business, they'll need to have that reprogrammed so it dials 10 digits," Andy Morgan, with AT&T Oklahoma, has said.

Callers will not have to dial a "1" before the area code.

The Corporation Commission predicts 918 area codes will run out by late 2012, so they are making new 539 area code numbers available on April 1, 2011.

There will be no change in calling 911, 411 or 211 services.
