TULSA, Oklahoma -- Thousands of Christmas trees are headed to the dump now that the holidays are over. But Tulsa's Southwood Landscape and Nursery is giving you another option.
If you bring in your old tree by Valentine's Day, they'll turn it into mulch that will be used at the nursery. In turn, they'll give you a $10 off voucher for a future purchase.
"Whatever you spend for the tree, you get at least $10 worth of something back. So, we thought would help out a little bit," said Stephen Smith, with Southwood Landscape & Nursery.
Tulsa's Greenwaste Site also turns old Christmas trees into mulch. City residents can drop them off for free, but you'll have to show a current drivers license with a Tulsa address.
The site is on 56th Street North, about a mile east of Highway 169. They're open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week.
