TULSA, Oklahoma -- An elderly woman driving a Lincoln LS careened into a south Tulsa cafe Monday, injuring four people inside the restaurant.

It happened just before a busy lunch rush at Mimi's Cafe in the 8200 block of 71st street.

Police say the driver hit the restaurant's west wall, where four people sitting at booths inside were knocked over by the impact.

Two of the injured were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while two others were treated at the scene. The driver was not injured.

Tulsa Police Sergeant Robert Rohloff said the woman had two large bags on either side of the console that might have contributed to the accident.

"She's got an extremely large bag that takes up, probably a good 8 inches of space.  That causes some concern about whether or not that interfered with how she's able to hit the pedals," Rohloff said.

Police said damage to the restaurant was considerable.  Police are still investigating what caused the driver to crash.
