ENTRY #10:
Week number??? I really don't know what week it is. I hardly know what day it is. I'm not real sure how to follow up last week's blog entry, but I do want to say a thank you to all of those people that contacted me asking to help out. I'm trying to work something out with the leadership to help out the locals.
On a brighter note, it's almost Christmas. I could have sworn it was just last week, and I sat down to write about olives at Thanksgiving time. The time sure has flown by, which in my case is a fantastic thing! I'm that much closer to coming home.
I've tried to get into the holiday feel of things, but it's so hard. Every night for the first 2 hours, we listen to and sing (not very well) Christmas songs. I've watched almost every Christmas movie there is. Elf is maybe by far the favorite, just because I get to sing loud for all to hear. In the dorms that I live in, people have decorated their doors and hung stockings in the hallways in an attempt to get it festive here.
There is really not much to write about this week for me. It's uneventful, which is always good for us.
Thank you again for all the support from the friends, family, and the in-between. Happy holidays from Afghanistan!
Heather
