HENRYETTA, Oklahoma -- A town shaken by the shooting death of a 13-year-old boy last week laid him to rest on Friday.
Landon Jewell was with other teens at a home in the 1000 block of West Cummings Street when he was shot and killed just after 7 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010. The medical examiner's office ruled the death a homicide.
His funeral service was held at 10 a.m. in the Henryetta High School gymnasium.

On Thursday, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation released a statement that "rampant rumors" were impairing their ability to investigate the shooting death. They asked that people with valid, verifiable information call their hotline at 1-800-522-8017.
