Osage Nation Chief Meets With President Obama

On Wednesday, President Obama met with 12 tribal leaders at the White House.  In that group was Principal Chief of the Osage Nation, John Red Eagle.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The second annual White House Tribal Nations Conference took place this week in Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday, President Obama met with 12 tribal leaders at the White House.

In that group was Principal Chief of the Osage Nation, John Red Eagle. During that meeting, Chief Red Eagle gave the opening prayer.

During a speech on Thursday, President Obama spoke on efforts to create jobs, building roads on reservations, improving education and providing better health care.

The conference was attended by more than 500 people, representing over 300 tribes.

Also attending from Oklahoma included A.D. Ellis, Chief of  the Creek Nation.
