TULSA, Oklahoma -- Two young men are in the Tulsa County jail after their arrest by Tulsa Police Monday night in connection with a deadly shooting in the 5400 block of East 71st Street.
Tulsa Police were dispatched to an apartment in the Regency Point Apartments in reference to shots fired.
When officers arrived, they located a crime scene in one of the apartments.
About an hour later, officers were sent to a Tulsa hospital in reference to a gunshot victim in the ER.
That victim, 21-year-old Antwaun Barnhardt was pronounced dead in the emergency room after suffering a gunshot wound to the neck.
Police say an investigation into both incidents revealed that four suspects had entered an apartment at the complex with the intent to commit a robbery.
Police say brothers Antawaun Barnhardt and 18-year-old Kendrick Barnhardt, 19-year-old Ernest Gauss and a fourth black male only identified as Mississippi had all entered the apartment armed with guns.
A visitor inside the apartment, 21-year-old Mason Rideout, who was also armed, fired several shots at the intruders, hitting Antwaun Barnhardt.
Police say Kendrick Barnhardt and Gauss were arrested and booked into jail on complaints of first degree murder and armed robbery.
Rideout was released after he was questioned by police, pending a review of the case by the Tulsa County DA's office.
