Tree Stops Pickup Truck From Striking Tulsa Church

TULSA, Oklahoma -- A man is arrested on suspicion of DUI after almost crashing his pickup truck into a Tulsa church early Friday morning.

Tulsa Police say the 39-year old man lost control around 1:30 a.m. near 61st & Sheridan.

They say he swerved off the road, went over a curb and crashed into a tree in front of Parkview Baptist Church.

Police say the tree stopped the pickup from crashing into the church itself.

An EMSA crew checked out the man at the scene. He was arrested and taken to the Tulsa County jail.
