TULSA, Oklahoma -- One of the largest manufacturing firms in Russia is making Tulsa its North American headquarters. Borets Weatherford makes submersible pumps for the oil industry.
It's new headquarters will be1600 North Garnett Road, the old Ramsey Winch building.
Company Vice President Raymond Standridge says they will be setting up a research and development facility as well as a training operation at the location.
"It's a bigger facility than what we need today, but hopefully we'll fill it with what our needs are projected to be in 2 or 3 years," said Standridge said.
The company announced plans to hire 125 people over the next three years.
"With its current employees and capital investment in this facility in 2010 and 2011, Borets-Weatherford is supporting a $52 million dollar impact for the Tulsa region," said Steve Malcolm, with the Tulsa Metro Chamber.
Corporate executives that are now scattered in several cities will be moved to Tulsa. The company will hire engineers and machinists.
"The City of Tulsa has always had a history of oil and gas manufacturing," said Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett. "We can really stake the claim of being the oil and gas manufacturing capitol of the nation, if not the world."

"So obviously there's a lot of talent in the state that knows the product and there's also a number of suppliers in Oklahoma that are familiar with it, so it's just a good fit for us," Standridge said.
The decision by Borets-Weatherford to purchase the facility in Tulsa and add jobs, qualifies the company for the state's quality jobs program.
The company was targeted by a Tulsa Metro Chamber effort to bring in new companies paying employees more than $45,000 a year. They are hiring now and plan to hire 60 people on the next 3 months.
