TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett has added outgoing Speaker of the Oklahoma House Chris Benge to his management team, a news release from the City of Tulsa said Monday.
City officials said Benge will join Mayor Bartlett's staff this Wednesday, November 17, 2010, as Intergovernmental and Enterprise Development Director.
Benge will lead several initiatives, from the conversion of Tulsa Transit buses to Compressed Natural Gas to river development, the news release stated.
"I am so glad to return home to Tulsa and excited beyond measure to join this Mayor and his vision for my hometown," Benge said.
Benge has authored 61 measures over the last two years alone in his leadership position with the Oklahoma House, including authoring an extension and expansion of the tax credit toward the purchase or conversion of a CNG vehicle.
