TULSA, Oklahoma – The Tulsa Area United Way exceeded this year's campaign goal, the organization said Thursday.
Its annual fundraising drive, which started back in September, collected $24,324,803. That's $257,252 more than its goal of $24,067,551.
"Because of the amazing spirit of philanthropy and altruism in this community, we were able to blast through the finish line of the second highest goal set in the history of the Tulsa Area United Way," said Mark Graham, President and CEO of the Tulsa Area United Way. "
The BOK Tower in downtown Tulsa put the total up in lights. That money goes to 61 partner agencies around Green Country.
