UNDATED -- The Oklahoma Medical Licensing Board did not take any action Thursday against a Vinita doctor accused of writing too many painkiller prescriptions for a patient who ultimately died of an overdose.
The board did not take any action but did call for a full hearing in January.

Authorities say Dr. Mickey Tyrrell prescribed more than 1,000 Demerol and Oxycontin pills to 35-year-old Tammy Daniels last year.
Authorities say Daniels died of an overdose after crushing and injecting demerol.
This is the first time Doctor Tyrrell has faced any disciplinary action. He continues practicing medicine.
