Former Tulsa Big Brother Volunteer To Stand Trial On Lewd Molestation

TULSA, Oklahoma – A former volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy he mentored in the program will stand trial, a Tulsa County judge ruled Monday.

Curt Carson faces six charges lewd molestation. Carson was charged with one count on July 27, 2010. A judge added five additional counts of lewd molestation on Monday.

Tulsa Police said the sexual assaults took place at Carson's home in 2002 and 2003. The victim, now 20, came forward last year.  Carson was arrested in July after a phone sting when investigators said he admitted to molesting the boy.

Carson is also a longtime teacher in the Tulsa area. He was a teacher at Union's Sixth and Seventh Grade Center at the time of his arrest.  He resigned from his position in September, according to Union Public Schools.

Carson also taught at three Tulsa Public Schools middle schools from 1995 to 2005.
