TULSA, Oklahoma -- A man armed with a small camping shovel robbed a Tulsa convenience store early Tuesday morning.
Tulsa Police say the white male was wearing black panty hose and a bandana over his head when he entered the Fiesta Mart at 15th and Harvard and demanded money and cigarettes.
The robbery happened at 5:15 a.m.
Police said the man threatened the clerk with the shovel before taking cash and cigarettes, then ran out the door and into a dark colored van parked down the street.
Police think the suspect may have worked in a convenience store because he was familiar with the store's safe.
Surveillance video shows the suspect telling the clerk to "Do a drop on the 20's", a common convenience store phrase. He then opened the machine holding the extra cash, got more money out of the register, then went back for the money that "dropped" out of the machine.
The suspect never touched the clerk, he just took the money and ran.
Officers said the suspect is in his 20's, 6 feet, and 165 lbs.
No one in the convenience store was injured.
