Wrong Way Driver Ties Up Tulsa Highway Traffic

TULSA, Oklahoma -- A driver going the wrong way on U.S. Highway 169 caused a traffic mess Thursday morning.

Tulsa Police were able to stop a driver on the inside shoulder who had traveled southbound in the northbound lanes of 169 for at least two miles. 

They got her stopped just north of the 61st Street exit at 8:35 a.m.

Tulsa Police say the woman told officers she was disoriented.  

There were no wrecks, but police had to move all northbound traffic over to the outside lane to get around the wrong way driver.

Tulsa Police got the driver turned around and traffic flowing again after just a few minutes.

The driver was not given a citation.
