TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Community College received a $400,000 grant for "Bridging the Gap" – part of the West Campus Early Childhood Development program. It is the largest single gift the college has received from a donor - outside an endowment – in its 41-year history.
The donation comes from the George Kaiser Family Foundation.
"I am grateful for the confidence the George Kaiser Family Foundation has in TCC to prepare future early childhood development professionals," said Tom McKeon, TCC president. "TCC continues to ensure our state's children are learning from qualified, well-trained professionals with their well being and educational needs at heart."
Students who qualify for the Bridging the Gap scholarship are reimbursed for their academic costs including tuition, fees and books. They also receive professional development training in children and family related topics, personal and academic advisement and mentoring services
