SAND SPRINGS, OKLAHOMA – A Sand Springs principal accused of shoplifting has been suspended with pay until her court appearance next month, according to the assistant superintendent at Sand Springs Public Schools.
Melessa Clark was the principal at Clyde Boyd Middle School. Sand Springs Police said Clark was caught putting makeup in her purse at a Walmart. They say Clark also switched prices on a mattress pad.
Lonetta Sprague, assistant superintendent at Sand Springs Public Schools, told the News On 6 Clark was no longer principal and won't be returning in an administrative position with the school district.
Clark is expected to appear in municipal court in October.
Police said she was caught shoplifting from the same Walmart in 2008.
