STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA -- A project which is focuses on Oklahoma school children's health, "Farm to You", has been named the 2010 Children's Health Champion and recipient of the Dr. Rodney Huey Memorial Champion of Oklahoma Health award.

In a news release from Oklahoma State University, the project coordinated by the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service, is an effort to deliver information and programs to help Oklahoma school children with their quality of life.

The release says some of issues addressed include increased rates of obesity, limited physical activity, low consumption of fruits and vegetables, high prevalence of tooth decay and a high rate of tobacco use among adolescents and teens.

The "Farm to You" program consists of an enclosed walk-through exhibit that travels throughout the state.

So far, the project has reached over 31,000 Oklahoma school children.
