TULSA, OK -- A 23-year-old Tulsa man was arrested for armed robbery of a Days Inn after police say he threatened a clerk with a large rock.
Samuel Thomas Richard Swatosh entered the Days Inn at 35 North Sheridan Road just before 3:30 a.m. Sunday and told the clerk he would bash his head in unless the clerk emptied the register, according to a report by Tulsa Police.
The clerk gave Swatosh about $200 in cash and called the police. Officers saw a man matching the description the clerk gave them and arrested Swatosh as he walked along the 6700 bock of East Admiral Place. They found a "large wad of cash," about $250, on the suspect when they patted him down.
The clerk positively identified Swatosh as the man who had robbed the hotel, police say.
