TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- The City of Tulsa has agreed to pay $25,000 for damage to a parking lot caused by a fire truck.

The Sixth Church of Christ Scientist, located at 3620 South Lewis, filed the legal claim against the City. The church is next door to Fire Station 14.

Mary Lockhart with the City of Tulsa legal department said the settlement was made with the Church because a Tulsa Fire Department truck was on church property without permission "practicing maneuvers" and caused "more than $25,000 of damage."

The money for the settlement will come from the City's sinking fund, which is an assessment from property taxes within the city limits.
