TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- The intersection of 111th Street South and Sheridan Road will be closed Wednesday through Friday for expansion resurfacing.

According to a news release from Tulsa County, the county is working with the cities of Tulsa and Bixby to complete the project.

The county says closure of the intersection is necessary for resurfacing.

Tulsa County construction crews will resurface 500 feet of the roads on each side of the intersection.

"This project is an example of how we have been using our resources at Tulsa County to assist our partner municipal governments," said Tulsa County Commissioner Fred Perry.

Officials say weather permitting, they hope to have the intersection reopened to traffic by 3 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010.
