OOLOGAH, OKLAHOMA -- The Oklahoma DEQ is investigating a dump site in Oologah that appears to be contaminating water flowing toward the Verdigris River.
A report released Thursday, written by several environmental groups, identifies dozens of sites across the country where coal combustion waste has been improperly dumped.
A landfill at the AEP/PSO power plant in Oologah is one of those sites.
The study by the Environmental Integrity Project (EIP) says recent groundwater monitoring under that landfill shows it's contaminated with high levels of selenium, arsenic, chromium, lead and other metals.
Ready the report from the Environmental Integrity Project (EIP).
