TULSA, OK -- The attorney for a Tulsa police officer in jail since July 23rd is asking he be given bond.
The motion filed on behalf of Bill Yelton asks that he be released from jail. It says Yelton is a decorated officer with no history or violence and no criminal record.
They argue Officer Yelton is presumed innocent until found guilty and he would agree to wear a GPS monitor and any other restriction the court chose.
Yelton was recently indicted in conjunction with an investigation into corrupt cops in Tulsa's drug unit.
