WAGONER COUNTY, OK -- A Sapulpa woman was killed when she was thrown from her rolling vehicle early Saturday morning. Jennifer D. Day, 38, died at about 2:25 a.m. on a county road just north of Coweta, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Day was behind the wheel of a 2002 Nissan Frontier pickup that left the road to the right then came back on the highway and flipped one and a half times, according to OHP.
Day, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by Coweta EMS. A passenger, 38-year-old Michael Sean Beman of Broken Arrow, was transported by private vehicle to a Tulsa Hospital where he was admitted with head, arm and internal injuries.
Beman, who was also not wearing a safety belt, is expected to recover.
Highway Patrol troopers list the driver's condition at the time of the accident as unknown. The cause of the fatality wreck is listed as unsafe speed for the roadway.
