Tulsa Area United Way Hopes To Raise More Than $24 Million

TULSA, OK -- The News On 6 has learned how much money the Tulsa Area United Way is trying to raise this fall.

Girl Scouts lined up "Deal or No Deal" style to reveal this year's goal of $24,067,551. The number came from the 61 agencies who count on United Way money. It's what they say they need to help people in need.

"We're optimistic. We know it's gonna be a tough, tough challenge, but yet we know the needs have even increased over what we saw last year. So we're just ready to hit the ground running and hope everybody realizes that this community is really remarkable because of the generosity of the community," said Mark Graham, Tulsa Area United Way.

The fundraiser begins September 10th.
