Elderly Tahlequah Man Killed In Tractor Accident

A 73-year-old Tahlequah man was killed while clearing brush on a tractor Wednesday morning in Cherokee County.

CHEROKEE COUNTY -- A 73-year-old Tahlequah man was killed while clearing brush on a tractor Wednesday morning in Cherokee County, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

OHP troopers say Billy Vincent was brush hogging on private property on South 460 Road near the Woodall community when he tried to push a large tree limb with the front end loader on a Kubota tractor.

The limb recoiled and struck him in the head and neck at about 9:46 a.m.

Troopers say he was taken to the Tahlequah City Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival from a head injury.
