TULSA, OK -- A driver was killed in a one-car rollover accident Friday night on Interstate 244 at Delaware Avenue. The identity of the driver is being withheld until next of kin can be notified.
The accident happened at 11:25 p.m. when troopers say a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer attempted to exit the eastbound lanes of the highway onto Delaware Ave. The SUV ran off the side of the road, was overcorrected and overturned one and a half times, coming to rest on its top.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The trooper at the scene told The News On 6 that the cause of the accident was reckless driving. Seat belts were not in use.
