NOWATA, OK -- The Nowata Family Health Center has moved into its new facility in the northeastern Oklahoma community.
In a news release from Tulsa's Morton Comprehensive Health Services, Inc., the new facility will allow them to see more patients and provide improved health care services to the community.
The new location is 207 South Locust Street in Nowata.
The new building has approximately 4,000 square feet of space for additional examining rooms for patients.
"On behalf of the board of directors and staff of Morton and the Nowata Family Health Center, we are excited that we will be able to provide greater health care service delivery, support and assistance to our neighbors in northeastern Oklahoma," said Dr. Michael Opong-Kusi, interim CEO of MCHS in Tulsa.
The news release says Nowata and the surrounding area is considered a medically-under served area. That is, on a patient to doctor ratio, the Nowata area does not have access to physicians and health care services in proportion to the number of citizens in the area.
A dedication ceremony for the new facility will be June 18 at 10a.m.
The hours of operation are Monday-Wednesday and on Friday, 8:30a.m.-1p.m. and 2p.m.-5:30p.m. and on Thursday 1p.m.-5:30p.m.
The main office of Morton Comprehensive Health Services is located at 1334 North Lansing in Tulsa.
