UNDATED -- Get ready for big headaches this summer on the Turner Turnpike.
The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority approved six new construction projects Wednesday from one end of the Turner to the other. Administrators say they wanted to do some of these projects last year, but couldn't afford them until now.
They say this past winter wreaked havoc on the turnpike.
"We're trying to go out there and address those worst first. And I wish I could say that once we're done with that we'll be totally done," said Tim Stewart, Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. "But, no, we're going to have to go back out there again next summer. So we're playing a little bit of catch up right now."
Most of the work will begin after the Fourth of July holiday and some of it will be done overnight.
