Alleged Tulsa DUI Hit And Run Driver Sends Pregnant Woman To Hospital

A pregnant woman was transported to the hospital with abdominal pain after her car was struck by a man later arrested for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an injury accident.

TULSA, OK -- A 28-year-old pregnant woman was transported to the hospital with abdominal pain after her car was struck by a man later arrested for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an injury accident.

Tulsa Police witnessed the accident at the 9500 block of East 41st at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday. A patrol officer followed the suspect's vehicle into the Rockwood Village Mobile Home Park, 4400 S. 104th East Avenue, where it crashed into the car port of a home.

They arrested Durian Ramos-Lopez, 28, and found him to have "blood shot eyes, strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath and person, slurred speech when he talked to his passenger and unsteady walk and stance," the arrest report states.

At the original accident, a pregnant woman in the car Ramos-Lopez allegedly hit complained of abdominal pain and was transported to a local hospital by EMSA.

According to EMSA, the 28-year-old pregnant woman was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

A 36-year-old man was also treated at the scene.

Ramos-Lopez was booked into David L. Moss Jail on complaints of felony leaving the scene of an injury collision and misdemeanor complaints of driving under the influence - refused state's test, no driver's license, no insurance and an expired tag.
