TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police have three men in custody in connection with a Sunday kidnapping and extortion attempt.
Police tell The News On 6, it began at about 8 p.m. Sunday when the victim told his girlfriend he was going out to buy marijuana.
The man's girlfriend told police that a short time later she got a phone call demanding $1,900 by 10 p.m. or the caller would kill and dismember the man at 10 p.m.
The girlfriend called police, who were successful in extending the deadline and reducing the ransom to $1,500.
Police say officers set up a ransom drop in the 2200 block of North Harvard at about 1 a.m. Monday.
After witnessing the exchange of cash for the victim, police officers moved in and stopped the suspect's vehicle in the 1400 block of North Harvard.
Police arrested 27-year-old Francisco Lopez, 19-year-old Jorge Baca and 21-year-old Alfredo Galaviz on complaints of kidnapping for extortion.
All three were booked into the Tulsa County jail.
