TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Public Schools refuses to release emails in the investigation of a Skelly Elementary School administrator accused of molesting a six-year-old boy.
The school district placed the administrator on paid suspension on Tuesday.
The News On 6 submitted an open records request Wednesday to Tulsa Public Schools requesting all emails that contained complaints about the man, who is now being investigated by Tulsa Police for lewd molestation.
A police search warrant says TPS officials turned over a "packet of e-mails" last Friday from several Skelly staff members.
The emails describe what staff members believe to be "inappropriate touching, rubbing and hugging of several male students" by the administrator.
The emails also describe "young boys being alone with the suspect in his dimly lit office, using the suspect's computer."
Tulsa Public Schools released this statement Thursday:
"At this point, because there are ongoing criminal and employment investigations involving confidential information with regard to a student and an employee, Tulsa Public Schools will not release any documents, e-mails or correspondence as to this matter as those items are privileged and protected by law. No further comment will be made by the district at this time with regard to this matter."
Tulsa Public School officials say they were unaware of the molestation allegation. And the complaints in the emails were investigated within a day, administrative action was taken and campus police were notified.
The News On 6 is not identifying the man because he has not been arrested or charged.
