Jennings, OK---Jerry Bergeron will readily tell you that he races his Roush Mustang at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit to keep from getting tickets on the street. This past weekend was the season opening of the racetrack in Jennings, and Jerry was tearing up the track and passing cars like they were standing still.
‘Very addicted, it's a big adrenaline rush,' said Jerry, ‘it's just something about it that really turns me on and I love it. I've taken some young people out and given them a thrill, they'll probably be future road course people too.'
Sunday Jerry took aspiring racer Amanda Slone around the 1.8 mile circuit in his track-dedicated Mustang, and Amanda might now also have the racing bug.
‘It was just awesome,' said Amanda, ‘ you're just right in the seat, the harness is holding you back, it's a blast, his car is really quick.'
Hallett also has a racing school to train those like Amanda bitten by the racing bug, and spectators are welcome to come out, watch the races and get inspired by the speed and talent of the drivers.
