TULSA, OK -- Jeremiah Mitchell is the last Oologah meningitis victim still in a Tulsa hospital.
The 6-year-old is showing signs of improvement, but has an amputation scheduled for Wednesday.
"Jeremiah's existence is a miracle in and of itself. His mother had leukemia as a small child and should have never conceived. The Lord saved her. The Lord created him and the Lord can save him now. And that's in our prayers and I hope that's in everyone's prayers, not just for our grandchild but for any child, anyone that may be affected by this," Jeremiah's grandmother, Carolyn Mitchell, said in a previous interview.
Friends have started a fund at Lakeside State Bank of Oologah to help pay for Jeremiah's surgeries.
