Severe Weather Warning Extended For NE Oklahoma

TULSA, OK -- Portions of northeastern Oklahoma could see severe weather Wednesday evening. At about 6 p.m., eastern and northeastern Delaware County is now the focus of the storm.

The storm front is fast moving, according to News On 6 Chief Meteorologist Travis Meyer.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for several counties in eastern Oklahoma until 10 p.m. They include Adair County, Craig County, Creek County, Delaware County, Mayes County, Nowata County, Okmulgee County, Osage County, Ottawa County, Pawnee County, Tulsa County, Rogers County and Wagoner County.     

Parts of Arkansas and Kansas are also included.

The News On 6 WARN team says a strong low pressure system is expected to stir things up across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas as it moves across northeastern Oklahoma. 

Once these storms move through, the rest of the week will be cloudy with temperatures below average.
