TULSA, OK -- Police say unsafe speed contributed to a wreck that landed a vehicle in Mingo Creek at 9900 East Pine overnight Saturday. The driver called in the wreck at about 12:45 a.m., telling 911 dispatchers he didn't know exactly where he was but knew he was in a creek.
Tulsa Fire and EMSA searched the area and eventually located the vehicle by seeing its headlights in a creek bed.
There were two people in the car. The passenger was carried away from the accident scene by emergency workers, and the driver walked out with some assistance.
Both were taken to the hospital to be checked for injuries.
Police said the driver was apparently going too fast and lost control of his vehicle.
