TULSA, OK -- An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper is on administrative leave after a shooting in north Tulsa early Wednesday morning.
The OHP says Trooper Shiloh Hall pulled over a man for driving with a defective tail light near Mingo and Admiral just after midnight.
OHP spokesman Lt. George Brown says the trooper and the man, identified as 26-year-old Roderick Scallion got into an altercation, which resulted in the trooper firing two shots.
One shot hit the man in the leg. Scallion took off running, but was captured and taken into custody.
A 2-year-old child was also in the car. The child was not injured. DHS was contacted and the child was placed in protective custody.
Scallion was taken to a Tulsa hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The OHP says Hall has been a trooper for almost three years.
Scallion, who has a previous conviction out of Kiowa County on drug possession, was released from state prison in May 2008.
